San Diego Zoo part 2: Safari Park

...........................................................................................................................................................................

The other day we went up to Escondido to go to the other part of San Diego Zoo, which was more of a wild animal park.

You could see the parks in many different ways, the most expensive was the VIP tour for $550 dollars!!

There was a hot air balloon ride

A segway safari

A zipline safari

We decided to go traditional on a cart:

It definitely was a WILD park

It was a very HOT day, so we had to take several pit-stops and ice-cream breaks.. :D

We went to Asia and Africa on our safari.

Up close and personal with a rhino

The difference between the two zoo's I guess was that here there were less windows and the animals weren't that hidden. We got real close to them!

At the end of the day we got to see a cheetah and a dog run 100 m. No need to tell you the Cheetah won. It ran 100 m on 5,4 seconds!!

There were many nice things to see, but some of my favourite things were a baby gorilla, the baby elephants playing, the tigers, the lions, and of course the 100 meter Cheetah run:

Pretty awesome huh?!

San Diego Zoo

......................................................................................................................................................................

Saturday was Zoo time.. Me, the youngest daughter in my "family", Aliza and another girl who has been adopted into the family; Bennett went together.

crazy cats

We wanted to do some funny posing :D

Saw a little boy do it, so we had to do it too, haha

I have been to a couple of zoo's before, like the Australian zoo in Brisbane, but this zoo really topped all my visits. It had all kinds of animals, including all the special creatures from Australia, like koalas, wallaby's etc.

Gotta love the lions

It also had random animals from all over the world that I have never seen in my life, like this one from Africa.

Funny-looking animal

There was also an animal that looked like a mix between a zebra and a horse. The legs were black and white like the zebra, but the body and the rest was brown. haha.. it looked strange, like something from Narnia or Lord of the Rings. The main attraction for me however, was the tigers and the panda. I don't know why, but I am fascinated by tigers and their story. The panda is interesting just because I had never seen one before, and I had a stuffed animal that was a panda when I was little that I loved, so it was fun to see a live one. haha..

| Cutest animal I have seen my whole life |

When we were walking out there were some acrobats doing a show, and they were really good at it!!
Tha amazing acrobats

For my Norwegian readers I strongly recommend checking out Erik's blog HERE about his visit to the zoo for a good laugh.  :D
